Fitness is a term that can have a variety of meanings. In this article, I'll focus on the benefits that one may derive from an exercise program. In other words, I want to help you reach optimal fitness through physical activity. There are many myths about fitness - for example, you don't need gym equipment to reach good fitness. Perhaps you spend a lot of time at a desk every day or you travel quite a lot for work or because your children require a different level of care. 

Sitting for long periods doesn't give your body the chance to move and can lead to health problems such as obesity/overweightness and type 2 diabetes. Your best bet is to also move around during times that you're sitting down working on your computer or if you're travelling, take walks or even go for runs in certain situations where it can be done safely - so much so that we recommend it!
